I have tutored high school math and essay-writing. Upon graduation, I expect to have an A average and an A/A* in all my grade 12 University level courses. I supplement my tutoring with personal notes, tests, etc.
Tutoring Services and Experience
Over my grade 11 and 12 years, I have tutored classmates and helped edit their written assignments in law, English, French, functions, calculus, biology etc. recreationally (w/o charge).
However, having since participating in my school’s Math Senior Scholars program, I have spent approx. 3 hr/week improving the math skills of grade 9, 10, 11, and 12 students alike. More recently, I began a similar in-school program, Student Editors; it is geared toward improving students’ literacy and general communication skills, especially in written assignments.
With these experiences in hand, I have become a better tutor and am better able to guide students through whatever material they are struggling with in class.
Whenever tutoring another, my primary objectives are:
1) helping the student identify what he/she is truly struggling with (concept, skills, etc.)
2) guiding students through the assignment, NOT dictating the assignment
3) to have the student come away with a better understanding of the given material
To better discern whether I am the right tutor for you, here are my achievements in respective subject areas (all are University level):
